Hey, guys! How's it going? Remember on my last post about my recent purchase, well here it is these amazing boots. I've worn them twice already and I can't get enough of them. They are by far my most favorite boots purchased. They are so comfy and I don't feel so short wearing them. I have been searching high and low for boots like these. Any who is anyone participating in the photo challenge over at Fat Mum Slim tomorrow? I think I may. So below I will put a link of my instagram...hope you guys join.

This weekend was quite nice. I spent it with my cutie pie while we let daddy catch up on some studying. What was on our agenda you ask? Well I took the tot to target to pick out a reward for doing fantastic in potty training, we walked and shopped the mall I got a pair of boots for $13, what a steal it was, and afterwards we went to Barnes and Noble for coffee and picked up some books to add to her collection. Sunday was pleasant, we visited my family and did more shopping. Then headed home to cook dinner. How was your weekend? Does anyone follow Fat Mum Slim? Well she has an amazing instagram photo challenge, that I am considering in joining. Her February challenge is already up and it looks so much fun. Check it out below.

Notice the tot's adorably new shoes, got them at an incredible price and they are just too darn cute. Well I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

Vote for Asa!!

I've decided to post the voting here. Our most favorite photographer
is holding a contest and we chose this photo of Asa from her photo shoot
last year for her 2nd year birthday pictures. As a matter of fact we are in the lead.
But we are in need of more votes. If any of you have a facebook please click the link below.

Mama Style: WHAT I WORE

jacket- wetseal, top- charlotte russe, leggings- target, shoes- forever21, clutch- thrifted

Your probably wondering why I've been wearing this denim jacket so much. To be honest it's by far my most favorite go to jacket when I'm in a hurry or when the weather calls for something light to wear. I must say it went perfect with what I hadn't planned on wearing today. Do any of my fellow bloggers, have facebook? According to yahoo news that the new timeline layout was permanent and the change for every one's facebook profile would be mandatory the end of this month. I personally hate the look of it. I may be shutting my facebook down and use my twitter account. Since Saturday I have been on a rampage getting so many likes for my daughter's photo for a contest and we're in the lead but still have four days until the contest ends. For those who do have one and would like to help us out on winning leave a comment with your email and I'll send you a link.

The first week of Justin's school went smoothly, although he had so much reading to do we still managed to have a date night. We happened to pick Chilis last minute to eat dinner then followed by the newest Underworld movie, which by the way was awesome if anyone would care to know. I love these types of movies and Kate Beckinsale can sure kick ass (pardon my french). Notice my new pair of leopard loafers. They came in last week and boy was I pleased. I haven't worn them out yet I'm actually waiting for the right moment. Sunday was a pleasant day Asa and I went to visit family which whom we haven't seen in a while. And Asa really misses her cousin noticed her outfit that my nephew happen to help her in...such the cutest little Iron Man I ever did see. Well I hope you all had a great week and weekend.

Little Printer

I stumbled upon this video that featured the tiniest printer I ever did see.
I'm convincing myself that once it is released that I absolutely am in need of one.
Look at the video for yourself it practically explains it all.

Mama Style: Yesterday's Outfit

jean jacket- wetseal (old), top- agaci, faux leather shorts- forever21 (old), clutch- vintage, shoes- candies

The weather has been perfect in the afternoon but not so much in the morning. I wore tights with this outfit but as soon as I got off work I took them off right away. Did you notice my hair up in a pony? I rarely do anything to my hair other then my typical go to curled hair style. I know there are so much possibilities to styling my hair and back then I would come up with amazing styles but now a days I just get to darn lazy. Any style tips for long-haired person like myself. Today my hunny and I are hoping for a date night dinner and a movie but we'll see. Any plans for the weekend?

Review: Tag Junior

When it comes to toys for Asa we love to buy educational toys. For birthdays or Christmas that's one thing we ask friends and families to buy her rather then your typical toys. Now, Asa loves to read what kid doesn't and since she's at that stage where learning is essential. We find ways for her to learn on her own whether it be watching Dora or playing with her flash cards. For Christmas we purchased the Tag Junior it came with a device that you connect to your computer, register onto Leapfrog and you download the books you've purchased and one book. There is only a limited amount of space of books for the device to download. For Asa's Tag Junior she has a total of 10 books. I recommend this to every parent. She has such a great time learning and following. I love the fact that you can take the device and place it anywhere on the book and whether it's a noise it makes, instructions to what to do or the area where it reads to you. After the end of the book Asa will notice other books that she wants. We will soon have a collection of books for her tag.

Tag Junior: Purchased at Toys R Us- $29.99
Age: 2-4 years old
Product: Tag device, USB cord and one book
Books Purchased: Book Set- $11.99, 1-2-3 Dora- $11.99 and Toy Story 3- $11.99

Snapshots of food.

Iced caramel mocchiato, hamburger on a pita bread, banana nut bread & chicken and dumpling soup

Through out the week I manage to snap photos using my iphone of foods I eat, bake or see. I love food, I mean who doesn't. This is a new segment on the blog of foods I find amazing until I manage to have my dream kitchen to post my own recipes and baking skills for you all to see. I hope you enjoy more photos of amazing delicious foods.

I have a love for coffee like I do clothes. I can never get enough of it and I tried Smiling Moose's iced caramel mocchiato for the first time and I must say it was better then Starbucks. The one night that we couldn't figure out what to do for dinner I whipped up hamburgers cooked them on a panini maker that you can use to cook anything on with that hamburger it included my avocado mayo dressing, spinach, pepper jack cheese on a pita bread. I attempted my first take in baking banana nut bread and it came out fantastic. I think next time I make it I will have to use wheat flour. Last Monday, we were welcomed to at least 10 inches of snow and what better way then to have soup night. I convinced Justin's mom to make her delicious soup and she makes the best I've ever tasted. Well that's it for last weeks snapshots of food until next week, enjoy!!

Mama Style: WHAT I WORE

hat- charlotte russe, top/shoes- kohls, pants- pacsun

I've come to realize that this semester will be my hunny's last year of being in the nursing program. I can't believe that two years has flown by so fast. For the next six months will be very busy. Justin will be in clinicals three days out of the week going in from 7 AM to 7 PM. Now it will be harder for me to post outfits. I guess I will have to plan out my outfit post according to his schedule. I'm crossing my fingers that everything goes smoothly this year. I hope you all have a great week.

No plans for us right now but we will see. I'm actually on my way to the mall to pick up a few things then rent a movie and cuddle with my loves. Have a great weekend, guys!!!

Party Details.

I have exactly three months to plan Asa's party and I know if I don't jump right to it I will be planning this last minute and of course I don't want that to happen again. There is still so much to do from purchasing supplies, painting, cutting and test baking for her cake. I know what I want and I can picture it in my head looking so perfect and everything in it's own place. I've already started collecting a few things here and there. What stress this will be but I'm telling myself to "Keep calm and plan this party." I hope you all have been doing great. Sorry for the lack of outfit post, I had planned on doing a few post but the weather here has been horrible snowing one day, gloomy the next and if we're lucky sunny. I tell ya our weather has a mind of it's own, it can never make up it's mind on what weather is best for us. Have a great day, everyone!!

If you'd like to know other details to her party here are parts (one & two)

Avocado Eggs Benedict

I love breakfast but trying to break free from your usual breakfast foods such as eggs, bacon and toast. You kind of grow tired of it. I've been searching for amazing breakfast recipes one that I can incorporate into our weekend breakfast menu. Now I have my days were I hate and love avocados but here lately we've been putting avocados in every thing from pita sandwiches to avocado may dressing. Justin loves avocado he could it everyday if we had stocked in the fridge. I may try this recipe out this weekend and surprise me with it. Anyone love or hate avocados?
Smooth and creamy mashed avocado on toasted English muffins, topped with a slice of salty, crispy bacon and a poached egg.

Ingredients

◦2 English muffins

◦4 slices bacon

◦1 avocado

◦Salt

◦Pepper

◦4 eggs

Instructions

1.Heat a sauce pan with 2 inches of water to a simmer.

2.Split the English muffins in half and toast until browned.

3.Cook the bacon to a crisp and set aside.

4.Cut the avocado in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh into a bowl.

5.Add a pinch of salt and mash with a fork.

6.Spread the avocado over the toasted English muffin halves and top with the bacon.

7.Crack 1 egg at a time into a separate small bowl or cup. Stir the simmering water with a spoon and gently pour the egg into the swirling water. Repeat with the second egg (I poach two at a time).

8.Cook the eggs for 2 1/2 minutes, until the whites are cooked through. Remove with a slotted spoon and let drain for a minute before placing on top of the bacon.

Potty Training.

For parents like myself I couldn't wait to see the tot take her first few steps and now we can't wait until she's full on potty trained. We started when she was one and half years. Now for a toddler that young to understand the concept of going to the bathroom is limited. It was an off and on and on going training. We stopped for a while since she refused to go or wear her undies. This was something we weren't fully committed to. We figured she will catch on and let us know when she needed to go. We've tried everything there was to training her from songs, giving her something to drink or give her a book to read you name it we've done it. We just basically asked when she needed to go and if she did we would a sticker on her potty chart. When we got the chance to convince her to wear her undies we jumped for joy. Now the past few weeks have been a breeze. While I'm at work my sister-in-law watches her and she's been working with her on potty training. When I get my potty reports it just melts my heart and brings tears to my eyes when she went through a whole nap time with no accidents, car rides, going to the store and just around the house because I know that my little one is growing oh so fast. We haven't had much accidents and as of last night she slept through the night with undies on. I'm the proudest mama out there. I just wanted to share this amazing milestone.

PS. I forgot to post the link to the 366 Photo project here.

Mama Style: WHAT I WORE

blazer- forever21, top/skirt- pacsun, shoes- candies, clutch- thrifted

Happy New Year, lovelies!! I hope you all celebrated the new year with a bang. Justin took me out to dinner and headed over to his friends house. This is what I wore on New Years, when I found that glitter skirt I immediately fell in love. I have been looking for a skirt like this. I don't have a new year's resolution but I did make a couple of goals and they are to blog more, think positive, eat healthy and exercise. I can't wait for what 2012 has in store for myself and my family. Did you make any New Year's resolution. Well have a great year!!
