Thanksgiving.

Our Thanksgiving consisted of Filipino food from egg rolls to pancit (Filipino noodles) we didn't have a traditional turkey consumption seeing has a percentage of our company were all Filipinos. But as for me I'd rather have that any day since it's rare that I get it. Although some sweet potato would be nice. I took a few shots of our day the first photo of the tot in her last minute outfit I manage to put together normally I'm a tad bit early picking out something cute for her to wear but this year was not my time in doing so. We had so many people that arrived and I had to be the one to give directions since my mommy lives in the middle of no where. Is anyone planning on taking part in the Black Friday Madness? Well I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving. I'm so thankful for everything that God has given me.

Kiddies.

What an adorable little video by Amanda Pratt.

Not only does she direct amazing videos but takes wonderful photos.

Right now we are celebrating Thanksgiving with friends and family. Photos to come of our thankful day.

Thankful.

Today I am thankful for my daughter...

She warms my heart with her laughter. I love tickling her neck just to hear her laugh.
Her cute little feet while tip toeing around the house. Her small little hands for painting.
She has the most beautiful tangled curls. I love her button nose and big bright eyes.
I love my pumpkin oh so much.

Macarons.

I have yet to try these colorful and I'm sure tasty macarons. Browsing through Wedding Chicks site I came across these and had to pin it to one of my boards. I would love to make these for the tot's party next year since her party will be oh so colorful. Have any of you tasted these or made them? Below is a recipe for pumpin macarons.

How To Make Pumpkin Cream

Yields 1 pint, enough for 40 small Macarons
3 egg whites
Pinch cream of tartar
1 cup granulated sugar
¼ teaspoon fine sea salt
2 ½ sticks cold unsalted butter, cut into 1-inch cubes
1 cup canned pumpkin puree
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground ginger
½ teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
¼ teaspoon ground cloves

Method:

Put the egg whites and cream of tartar in the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the whisk attachment.
Bring the sugar and ¼ cup water to a boil in a small saucepan over medium- high heat, stirring to dissolve the sugar. Attach a candy thermometer to the pan and cook until the mixture reaches 238F (soft ball stage).

While the syrup is cooking, whisk the egg whites at medium speed until they form soft peaks, about 2 minutes. Once the syrup reaches 238F, in a steady stream gradually pour the syrup down the side of bowl, resting the edge of the pan on the edge of the mixer so that the syrup does not hit the whisk attachment and splatter. This process should take about 15 seconds. Whisk the meringue until stiff peaks form and the bowl cools down, about 8 minutes.

Now, add the salt and butter and whisk on high speed until the meringue emulsifies and becomes completely smooth and fluffy, about 8 minutes. Add the pumpkin puree, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and cloves while the mixer is still running and whisk until the butter cream returns to a smooth and fluffy state. It can be kept covered and refrigerated for up to 3 days.

A party to plan.

As I sit here surfing the web while pinning ideas for Asa's 3rd birthday party that I had said I wouldn't plan. Which by the way is Pinterest fault. But she's a kid and all kids need birthday parties. After picking up the tot from daycare, I asked Asa if she would want a birthday party. Then that's when it hit me, she wanted pink and backups. Oh no, she wants Dora for her birthday. I had already planned something totally far from that idea. I wasn't prepared I figured I had until she was five to make decisions for her birthdays. I would secretly whisper in her ear of ideas for her party knowing she will repeat anything I tell her. Smart girl!! But she is confident that Dora, Boots and Diago will be there. I think I pretty much have it figured out I will incorporate Dora into the theme I had in mind. Although her birthday is months away I'd like to start planning it early. I will keep you guys updated with her party.

Little Miss Christmas List

I normally start my Christmas shopping early every year but this Christmas will be somewhat different. Since I'm the only one working and my hunny still in school money is somewhat tight right now. But it isn't all about the gifts just to know you have the people you love to spend it with. This year I wanted to make Asa a few handmade toys and find some adorable vintage toys. I'd rather her have educational toys rather then the usual. I have been searching high and low for ideas of what to make and some unique toys too. I was browsing a blog that I can't remember who but stumbled upon the cutest Maileg Mouse in a matchbox now if only I knew where to get my hands on this particular one. Isn't it the cutest? Now, Pillows by Poppy makes incredible pillows that is not in my budget but I figured I can make one for her. I have always wanted to get Asa a view master since I had one as a kid, I mean what kid didn't they were spectacular. I found this on etsy and of course it's vintage. And last but not least these adorable vintage tea pots. We've been having tea parties well actually coffee parties. She got her first tea set for her 2nd birthday and she loves them so much. Let me know what's on your Christmas List, I would love to know and see.

Weekend Project

The weekend is what I love most spending it with my loves especially when we visit Hobby Lobby to find new craft projects to do with the tot. I spotted some wooden peg dolls from Goose Grease that I wanted to purchase but found some at Hobby Lobby for less. The tot had a blast her peg dolls went from being semi covered with paint to all being covered in pink. Mama made one of her own. This was a great project to do so go out and buy one and see what you guys come up with.

Mama Style: WHAT I WORE

top- rue21, pants- target, pumps- charlotte russe

I'm making this post rather short. I have a couple of orders that needs tending. I also have to put the tot to bed last night was not her night she was afraid of a little thunder storm that rolled our way that kept the booger up so mama was a little kind and let her watch Tangled until she fell asleep. So have a good night lovelies.

top- aekids, skirt- gymboree, shoes- payless, stroller/baby- target

Asa let mama braid her hair in big tails she rarely wants her hair fixed let alone have me touch it. I thought they were the most cutest braids ever. I have a couple of posts lined up and I can't wait to share what we did this weekend. Any plans for today? I'm thinking the drive-in for us but it hasn't been decided.
