Over the weekend I had a chance to wear my newest purchase, now before having Asa I would buy expensive shoes but now I a mom on a budget. You won't see me buying designer items unless I must have it. I can still be in style on a budget, right? Well I snagged these baby on Hautelook for $65 and last pair in my size. I saw them at Dillard's for $130 I think and I was happy to see them at Hautelook. The tot and I spent our Saturday shopping and having a mother/daughter day and then later daddy took me to the movies. It was a great weekend. I haven't posted any insta photos and I really need too. Hopefully I will starting posting weekly instas rather then my weekend. Well I hope you all had a great weekend.

Party Details.

I can't believe that in less then 4 weeks Asa's party will soon be here and not only that she's turning 3. I have so much to do for this party and have yet to start on it. I've purchased half the stuff we need and I better get on the ball. Here are a few photos that I will be recreating for her Woodland Party and I am beyond excited to the moon to see the end result. I can't wait to share photos from her party once it's here.

Family Meals.

When it comes to family dinners and having time to prepare meals on our busy schedule I opt for an easy Italian dish like this. Super easy to make and so inexpensive. I normally don't add spinach to this dish but I've been trying to get on the band wagon of eating healthy. I hope you guys enjoy this dish.

Ingredients

Baby spinach
Whole wheat penne pasta (any brand of your choice)
Johnsonville mild Italian sausage
Classico pesto sauce
Buitoni Parmesan cheese

1. First take your sausage links create any size meatballs and set aside.
2. Cook pasta according to package directions.
3. While pasta is cooking, cook your sausage and set aside.
4. Once pasta is cooked drain and set a side.
5. Take your pesto and pour entire sauce in a pot and cook with spinach.
6. Once spinach has wilted place pasta and sausage with sauce and spinach.
7. Stir all ingredients and cook for 10-15 minutes and serve.

Trip to the Zoo.

Here are photos from our trip to the zoo which was the tot's very first visit. Once we were there Asa's immediate request was to see the giraffes. She loves them so much. She had a great time so did we although this zoo was quite small and I hope one day we can take Asa to a bigger zoo. Asa saw all animals and insects. Now we can not wait to go back.

Mama Style: WHAT I WORE

Yay, two days in a row posting an outfit. I'm really excited that summer is just around the corner and that the time changed as well. Today we are on our way to head out of town to visit Justin's dad in the hospital and to take Asa to the zoo for the first time. We've told her what our plan was for today but she doesn't seem to understand the concept of what a zoo consists of but I know she will be excited to see so many different animals. We are ready to go out of town and have a family day. Hope you guys have a great weekend.

Mama Style: WHAT I WORE

Well haven't I been a stranger here on the blog. These past few weeks has been a roller coaster ride for all of us. As of right now we are enjoying our week with daddy since he is on Spring Break and will return to finish his last few weeks on Monday. We are eagerly waiting for him to finish so that we may start our future. I have to admit it was nice taking a break from the blogging world just to clear your mind and spend it with family. I also joined the gym, finally for almost 4 weeks now and have been loving it so far. Last week the tot was sick for a week with tonsillitis so mama was here to comfort, care and love her oh so much. Not only was I taking care of her but also have been working on my top secret project that I can wait to share...soon I will! I have been making a few visits to my local Goodwill store and am so glad I did I have scored adorable vintage dresses for little girls, that I hope in the future I may have, these pants I am currently wearing and among other things. Well I hope you all have had a great week.

Parenting.

I am no expert on parenting nor have I learned the ropes to being a good parent. But when it comes to teaching Asa values and what's right and wrong especially while trying to get over the terrible twos. Which I know never ends until they decide to. Well in our case it just seems to get harder as it goes by. We try to discipline Asa the right way as we know how to. Her doctor say's it's ok to spank and when throwing her fits now and then it's ok to just leave her in her room. Now that's where he is wrong in our case. We have been living with Justin's parents for over four years now (gosh has it been that long). Asa still sleeps in our room but last year she transitioned in her big girl bed, now we're still trying our best getting her to sleep in it. I'm going to tell you it is hard when you don't have a place of your own. Soon after Justin graduates we'll have our own house then is when we will have to deal fighting with Asa to sleep in her own room...please pray for us. Manners is one thing we've been teaching her since day one. At our recently outing to Target Asa decided to toot while we we're in line a the register with a line forming behind us and Asa seems to think it is the funniest thing she has ever done and we're slowing teaching her to say excuse me or to not do it out in public. Although daddy and I find it cute at times but not when it's repetitive.

Ups:
Asa is great at identifying things around her.
She can already tell what she wants to be when she grows up "a doctor like daddy to save people"
She is great at doing puzzles.
Finding shapes and colors.
Responding back to what Dora asks.

Downs:
Bedtime- still fighting to get her to bed on time.
Not listening when asked to do something.
Tooting out in public.
Jumping off the edge of the bed to get to hers, which scares the heck out of me.

Mama Style: WHAT I WORE

I must say it has been such a long time since I've posted an outfit. Now a days it's rather difficult too when you have your hunny at clinicals all the time and there's no one to take them. I have been doing a little shopping and updating my wardrobe. Also I've been working on a little project that I will soon release and can't wait to share with everyone. Hope you all have a great Friday!!!
