a bit of a change

Hello dears! How was your three day weekend? My hunny took me out for dinner and a movie for my birthday, the only bad thing was that everytime we go to this restaurant we manage to get a crappy cook, burnt fried rice, small amounts of vegetables and to top it off when he asked what movie we were going to watch he told us it was horrible and told us a few scenes from the movie. Now in my opinion it was great we saw "Don't Be Afriad of The Dark," I'm so glad Katie Holmes is doing movies again. I love her as an actress and she did a fantastic job. Have you guys noticed anything different about the blog? Of course you've seen that we are now a .com but also a new layout.



The lovely and oh so talented Arvee from Flutter Happy designed a layout fit for the blog and I was so excited as soon as she was finished that I jumped for joy with excitement in my head since I was at work and I didn't want any of my co workers to think I was crazy. Hi, lovelies! I hope you all have had a great week. Can you guess what today is? My birthday!!! Man, am I old. So for your viewing pleasure, I've invited all of my blogger friends to my birthday party. I can still have parties, right. Oh what I would give to plan a party like this. A vintage themed party filled with scented flowers on a beautiful table setting, mouth watering mixed drinks, playful desserts, and pie filled jar as favors. I know I'm only dreaming but I hope to plan a party like this someday.

It's not a secret anymore...

Lilybird Vintage coming to a kiddo near you carrying handmade products from hair bows to dolls keeping your tot stylish throughout the years to come.

I have been keeping this little secret of the store quiet for a couple of months now. I can now finally share this exciting news with you all. If you've read the link about Lilybird, you may already know that it was suppose to be my online women's store opening this past June but we made a family decisions not to commit to something big. I talked it over with my hunny and we thought doing something small for now would give me at least something I love to do and share. So that being said I turned Lilybird Vintage to an online kiddo store. I have been sewing up a storm creating one of the kind bows, adorable dollies, cute accessories, and creating my very own in house kiddo line for the Spring/Summer 2011, along with other vintage inspired and independent brands of clothes.

The release of the website will happen when I enter The Stanton Trade Days in two months. I will be one busy mama. I will keep you guys posted when the initial website is launched. I hope you all visit the store and what better way to share it but with my lovely readers.

Hola!!!

Your probably hoping for some instagram photos today but seeing as my weekend was busy and I wasn't snapping photos here and there. I just want to share two photos from the Blue's Fest wish I could have taken more but maybe next time. How was everyone's weekend? I have some exciting news to finally share with all of you and hope that you all will be very supportive but you will just have to find out later on today. Have a great Monday, ya'll!!!

New

Your probably wondering what new thing I bought or exactly what new thing it is. Notice something different about me...well it's my hair. I colored it today although I wanted to go lighter then what I wanted by my hair stylist convinced not to and I love it so much. I got a small trim. You may not be able to see but I bet in the sun when I take pictures of my outfit you will. Have a great day, guys!!!

Vacation Time!!!

As of 5 PM today I officially shouted out "I'm on vacation, yay." Here's a pic of where I will be at, Hot Springs, Arkansas never been but heard so much about it. I have a little something special starting next week for all you lovely readers. I will also post here and there while I'm there just to show you this incredible city.

First visit to Freebirds

Here is part one to a start of our weekend. Although there will be more pictures to come but its always great to spend it with family and friends. We tried out Freebirds for the first time after opening for a month and a two block radius waiting line and believe me I would have waited. I want to start documenting different places I eat at, since I'm one to try out new things so why not do so.

Freebirds: Midland, Texas
Type: It's like Subway but for burritos
Instructions: Choose your tortilla and size, type of rice, cheese, meat, beans, veggies and other condiments
Price: Reasonable

My choice was a spinach tortilla with cilantro lime rice, monterey cheese, white chicken, black beans, roasted corn, red onions and cilantro. I was so impressed with my choices that I'm sure I will get more than once. I'm hungry just typing this and describing exactly what I added to my burrito. The place was so lively and rock n roll. There was a motorcycle with the statue of liberty riding on it extremely cool. The line was semi-long which we waited for about 30 minutes but it was worth it. If you ever happen to see this in any town you stop by or when your ever in my town be sure to try them out.
