Review: Tag Junior

When it comes to toys for Asa we love to buy educational toys. For birthdays or Christmas that's one thing we ask friends and families to buy her rather then your typical toys. Now, Asa loves to read what kid doesn't and since she's at that stage where learning is essential. We find ways for her to learn on her own whether it be watching Dora or playing with her flash cards. For Christmas we purchased the Tag Junior it came with a device that you connect to your computer, register onto Leapfrog and you download the books you've purchased and one book. There is only a limited amount of space of books for the device to download. For Asa's Tag Junior she has a total of 10 books. I recommend this to every parent. She has such a great time learning and following. I love the fact that you can take the device and place it anywhere on the book and whether it's a noise it makes, instructions to what to do or the area where it reads to you. After the end of the book Asa will notice other books that she wants. We will soon have a collection of books for her tag.

Tag Junior: Purchased at Toys R Us- $29.99
Age: 2-4 years old
Product: Tag device, USB cord and one book
Books Purchased: Book Set- $11.99, 1-2-3 Dora- $11.99 and Toy Story 3- $11.99

Potty Training.

For parents like myself I couldn't wait to see the tot take her first few steps and now we can't wait until she's full on potty trained. We started when she was one and half years. Now for a toddler that young to understand the concept of going to the bathroom is limited. It was an off and on and on going training. We stopped for a while since she refused to go or wear her undies. This was something we weren't fully committed to. We figured she will catch on and let us know when she needed to go. We've tried everything there was to training her from songs, giving her something to drink or give her a book to read you name it we've done it. We just basically asked when she needed to go and if she did we would a sticker on her potty chart. When we got the chance to convince her to wear her undies we jumped for joy. Now the past few weeks have been a breeze. While I'm at work my sister-in-law watches her and she's been working with her on potty training. When I get my potty reports it just melts my heart and brings tears to my eyes when she went through a whole nap time with no accidents, car rides, going to the store and just around the house because I know that my little one is growing oh so fast. We haven't had much accidents and as of last night she slept through the night with undies on. I'm the proudest mama out there. I just wanted to share this amazing milestone.

PS. I forgot to post the link to the 366 Photo project here.

Party Details.

I have been pinning up a storm on Pinterest ideas for the tot's party next year. I've discussed with Justin's mom how everything will come to play and that this party will allow us to actually enjoy it. Last year was a mess we we're running late, still preparing for the party last minute, with only three hours of sleep, and managed to finish the cake before we had to sing Happy Birthday!! I'm not saying it was a disaster but I'd like to be more prepared. As you know from this post of what the party theme is we are now slowly making preparations of what needs to be done a head of time. I know I'd like it to be colorful, hints of glitter, tasty sweets and bold details. I can't wait and as it seems I have it perfectly planted in my head on how everything will look.

Footnote: There will be a couple of changes on the blog so look out for that...and more interactions with all you fine people. Have a great day!!!

Thankful.

Today I am thankful for my daughter...

She warms my heart with her laughter. I love tickling her neck just to hear her laugh.
Her cute little feet while tip toeing around the house. Her small little hands for painting.
She has the most beautiful tangled curls. I love her button nose and big bright eyes.
I love my pumpkin oh so much.

A party to plan.

As I sit here surfing the web while pinning ideas for Asa's 3rd birthday party that I had said I wouldn't plan. Which by the way is Pinterest fault. But she's a kid and all kids need birthday parties. After picking up the tot from daycare, I asked Asa if she would want a birthday party. Then that's when it hit me, she wanted pink and backups. Oh no, she wants Dora for her birthday. I had already planned something totally far from that idea. I wasn't prepared I figured I had until she was five to make decisions for her birthdays. I would secretly whisper in her ear of ideas for her party knowing she will repeat anything I tell her. Smart girl!! But she is confident that Dora, Boots and Diago will be there. I think I pretty much have it figured out I will incorporate Dora into the theme I had in mind. Although her birthday is months away I'd like to start planning it early. I will keep you guys updated with her party.

Little Miss Christmas List

I normally start my Christmas shopping early every year but this Christmas will be somewhat different. Since I'm the only one working and my hunny still in school money is somewhat tight right now. But it isn't all about the gifts just to know you have the people you love to spend it with. This year I wanted to make Asa a few handmade toys and find some adorable vintage toys. I'd rather her have educational toys rather then the usual. I have been searching high and low for ideas of what to make and some unique toys too. I was browsing a blog that I can't remember who but stumbled upon the cutest Maileg Mouse in a matchbox now if only I knew where to get my hands on this particular one. Isn't it the cutest? Now, Pillows by Poppy makes incredible pillows that is not in my budget but I figured I can make one for her. I have always wanted to get Asa a view master since I had one as a kid, I mean what kid didn't they were spectacular. I found this on etsy and of course it's vintage. And last but not least these adorable vintage tea pots. We've been having tea parties well actually coffee parties. She got her first tea set for her 2nd birthday and she loves them so much. Let me know what's on your Christmas List, I would love to know and see.

Born to dance

This little cutie so eagerly waiting in her pink dance outfit was born to dance. We started the Mommy and Me dance class yesterday and boy was this tot excited. Although, I was nervous for her but after waiting 20 minutes the class was ready to start. We met the instructor Mrs Catie who was the nicest teacher ever and the other Mommy's and kiddos, which there was only three in her class with her included. We started with a warm up but the poor tot was shy for only just 10 minutes. We were doing silly dances, learning to walk like a ballerina, walked on the balancing beam and Asa tried her hardest to walk like a bear. Before the 45 minute class ended Mrs Catie asked the girls what they had learned, and sweet Asa responded to "we excerise," and managed to help the last girl who was asked a gentle whisper of what they learned. She is such a great little helper. It was a blast seeing her in a different enviornment rather then what she normal routine. We go once a week every Thursday and we can't wait to go again.

Footnote: I hope to get more photos of us.
