Weekend Project: Gingerbread House

Over the weekend, Asa and I went over to a friend's house so that Asa could build a gingerbread house with the girls for the first time (my first time too). I have never built one and I purchased a kit from Target for $8 little did I know how much work it would be and that those darn pieces don't stick well with the icing they put in the kit. It managed to stick together after holding it for about 10 minutes. Then we iced it and let the girls decorate it as they pleased. I figured it would look similar to the picture on the kit man whoever put it together did an amazing job. I couldn't get my icicles right. Oh well at least Asa had a blast decorating while eating the candy. Has anyone build one before using a kit or from scratch?

DIY: Tinsel Wreath Ornament

How adorable is this tiny ornament, perfect for any tree and so easy to make. Christmas is one of my favorite holidays from the decorations, opening presents to spending quality time with family. I think I may make this with the little one some time.

Weekend Project

The weekend is what I love most spending it with my loves especially when we visit Hobby Lobby to find new craft projects to do with the tot. I spotted some wooden peg dolls from Goose Grease that I wanted to purchase but found some at Hobby Lobby for less. The tot had a blast her peg dolls went from being semi covered with paint to all being covered in pink. Mama made one of her own. This was a great project to do so go out and buy one and see what you guys come up with.

Halloween Parties

I love Halloween, I mean who doesn't love dressing up, trick or treating or decorating for this holiday. I told Justin that when we plan for another baby I hope that he or she is born in October so that I can plan amazing Halloween Parties. When I said that I pretty much figured out what I'm going to be for Halloween this year I actually haven't. It's a toss up between two costumes that I'm either creating myself or finding the right pieces for. I hope I can pull something off by Monday or else I will have to just go in my usual attire not only that this weekend I will be sewing Asa's Minnie Mouse costume since finding one on Etsy cost around $60-$70 and I just don't have the funds for that. But what better way then to make it yourself makes it extra special. Are any of you lovely people going to any Halloween parties or planning one yourself? I'd love to see photos.

What else was I suppose to do but to learn it myself and that's exactly what I did. Long story short, I am still craving to learn more of it and that is why I am taking this class. Crafty DIY: Braid Necklace

A while back I was in one of my many mood projects. I would start something and some how wouldn't finish. I have always wanted to make jewelry and I have the tools do it but never actually sat down to start it. I've seen many shops that make their own and thought to myself that hey it's possible, I can do it too. But right now since I have such a busy schedule with the opeing of my online kiddo store that right now I will have to put this project on hold. Has anyone been in my spot before?

Crafty DIY: Calling Cards

How adorable are these DIY business cards? And which one is your fave? For me I love them all. I have been going crazy trying to figure out how my cards would look. After seeing these I think I pretty much have it figured out. At first I wanted to hire someone to create them for me but I think doing them myself gives it that extra special touch. I have almost one month left until the launch of the site and Trade Days. Am I excited yes, am I scared of course and am I prepared I think so. If any of you have ideas to share, please by all means let me know.

Hey, guys!! I just added a new segment to my crafty post I do every Wednesday like this post here. I have always admired crafty people and what they can come up with. I'm calling this segment of posts, "Crafty little things," anything and everything I feel that is crafty and that can be remade like these jewelry holders, now I know I can create something like this for my jewelry. Tomorrow I will share with you all where I keep my jewelry neatly tucked. I hope you all have a great day.

Guest Post: Delighted Momma's Crafty DIY

Hello readers of Eat Love & Style! I am Lindsay from Delighted Momma!

I LOVE Jackie's blog and and so excited to be here! Today I am going to show you how to take old bangles and spruce them up.

I have TONS of cheapy silver bangles that I have acquired. I mean really... how many silver bracelets can one girl own?...A LOT according to my jewelry drawer. So I decided to spruce some of them up!

What you need:

• Scissors
• Hemp cords (as many colors as you like)
• An old bangle

Pick a color you want to start with. Tie a TIGHT double knot around the bracelet. Start wrapping the hemp cord around the bracelet. Tuck the strand from the knot (second picture) on the inside as you wrap.

When you are ready to add your next color, tie a tight double knot next to were you left off with the previous color. Wrap like you did with the first color. Keep the other hemp string tucked behind.

Alternate the colors as much or little as you like....tucking the
previous color as you go

When you reach the end, double knot the cord and cut the loose end.

Since you cant have just ONE bangle..I made two :)

I would have never thought to get twisty ties and decorate them however you like. As mentioned before I adore pinterest so much. If ever I am uninspired I just head on ever to their site and take a look at what others have pinned on there boards...and voila instat inspiration everywhere. You guys should check it and my boards. I love it when crafty people come up with the cutest things. Like this for instance who would of thought to use paint chips or swatches to punch out hearts and make cute heart bunting out of them. This would be incredible for parties.
